I regularly use my laptop's integrated video camera in GoToMeeting and it works just fine. Zoom, however, will not show any video. I have downloaded the latest version, I have checked my privacy settings which show that Zoom has access to my camera. I have rebooted my laptop since installation of zoom. The camera light shows "on" on the laptop when I start a meeting, but nothing shows in the preview or to people on the call with me.

Hi Kathy7 thank you for your post here on the Zoom Community! I wanted to offer some thoughts about why this may be happening:. Microsoft Skype for example is one I have seen do this. If you can completely exit out of any apps that might be using the camera and try Zoom again that would be great.

You can even do this when you are not in a meeting. Click on Video, and you will see some camera choice options there. If your camera is recognized by Zoom you will see a small picture of yourself in camera.

Tap on the "Enter" button on the keyboard so that the Device Manager can open. After that, right-click on it, and from the options, chose "Update Driver. Find the Windows option in the bottom left corner and select it. You will find the Settings, option on the panel that pops up. Then choose "Privacy" settings. In the list of privacy settings, chose Camera, from the panel on the left side underneath settings. These files can make your computer or Mobile hang unnecessarily.

From here, if the camera settings are disabled, toggle them on. But that will not be enough. Therefore, you have to chose which apps can access the camera and select Zoom from the list of apps that appear.

Click on the Windows app and select Start, from the panel that pops up. Scroll down to locate the Zoom app on your windows. Right-click on the "Zoom icon. The progress will be shown on the computer. As the windows Zoom app has been uninstalled, restart the computer. Again, download the Zoom app. Switch on your Zoom app on the computer.

On the right side of your app, you will find the "Settings". In the settings panel bar on the left, click on the "Video". On the right bottom side of the same panel, you will find "Troubleshooting". Click on it and wait for some time.

Ensure that your webcam is toggled on from the settings of your PC. People Also Ask 1. Why is my screen black on Zoom? The main reason for the black screen on Zoom during screen sharing is the graphics card that has an automatic graphics switching option.

How to give Zoom access to the camera? If you are a newbie at Zoom, the first step is to sign in with your Zoom account and chose the "Start meeting" option.

After that, you will be asked to permit to access the camera as soon as the video call starts. How do I give access to Zoom? You can give access to Zoom from the settings. In the settings of windows or your smartphone, allow the Zoom app to access the camera and app.

This can be done by toggling the Zoom app. Is Zoom video conferencing free? Yes, Zoom is one of the top 5 options for video conferencing. If you subscribe to its Free Plan, then you will be offered collaborative meetings and strong screen-sharing capabilities. However, there is a minute time limit on group meetings with Free Plan. The next time you try to join or start a virtual meeting, the web browser client should download the software for you. You also can manually install the software from Zoom.

Another common problem with Zoom is an audio echo during a meeting. If you hear an audio echo or feedback, there are three possible reasons why. Someone could have both computer and telephone audio active at the same time. In this case, ask them to either hang up on the telephone call or exit the PC-based audio during the conference by clicking the up arrow icon next to the microphone icon and choosing Leave Computer Audio.

Computer or telephone speakers might be too close to each other. Ask the two people that are too close to each other to move apart or shut a door. You could also ask one of them to leave the audio conference or mute audio on their device; though muting by itself may not always be as effective in reducing the echo. Using headphones helps reduce the echoing effect, too.

Multiple computers with active audio could be in the same conference room. Again, ask the two people that are too close to each other to move apart or close a door. You can also ask one of them to leave the audio conference, mute audio on their device, or wear headphones.

Lagging and freezing usually indicate a problem with your internet connection. On a mobile device, move to an area with a better connection to see if this helps. On PCs, stick with a wired Ethernet connection, if possible.

Aim for the right internet speeds for a successful video chat. When talking with multiple people in a team setting, you want the upload speed around 1Mbps and the download speed around Kbps. You can always check your current speeds with a quick internet speed test. If the speeds are undesirable, repeat Solution 1. Also, you can check out our tips on how to increase internet speed. To access these options, click the cog icon Settings on the main screen of the Zoom desktop app, or click the arrow icon within the video camera icon during a call and then select Video Settings on the pop-up menu.

Sharing your screen is an important part of many Zoom calls. Sharing your screen takes up a lot of bandwidth. Use a wired connection, if available, for the best performance. Your meeting will then start with only audio, freeing up bandwidth.
